Milsap Monday Album Of The Week: Greatest Hits

It's #MilsapMonday so the album of the week is "Greatest Hits".

It was Ronnie Milsap's first Greatest Hits compilation, released in 1980 by his RCA label. This is the album that introduced "Smoky Mountain Rain" to Ronnie's music catalog. This album went double platinum by the RIAA for shipments of over 2 million copies.

It was Billboard's top country album of the year for 1980. It also peaked at #36 on the US Billboard 200 chart, and at #10 on the Canadian RPM Country Albums chart in Canada.

For some reason, two versions of the album were released. The LP, 8 track and cassette versions have twelve tracks. The CD has nine however later versions of the album omitted "I Hate You", "Let's Take The Long Way Around The World" and "Let My Love Be Your Pillow".
